Official Unveiling of Town Photograph

Tomorrow morning, Saturday 8th October 2011 at 10:45, the Saltburn Library will play host to an unofficial unveiling of a large framed copy of the Saltburn 150 Town Photograph, which will be on display throughout October.

There will be a list for people to show where they are in the photograph, which will then be put with the town photograph in the town archive to delight future generations.

All are welcome.

Tug’o'War

Though it's best days have past in 1904 a tug'o'war was even an Olympic event!

This Saturday afternoon at 14:00 two teams will participate in a special Tug’o'War opposite the Saltburn Surf School. Onlookers are invited to cheer each team on, so come watch these burly men tug it out.

This month’s Lunchtime Time Recital on Saturday 3rd September 2011 will feature:

  • Amy Maher – Piano
  • Crawford Hall – Trombone
  • Julie Hall – Vocals
  • Barry Cope – Piano

It will make a delightful interlude from a busy afternoon pottering around town. Doors open at 12:00 and the recital begins at 12:30 and runs for 1 hour.

The event is provided free, courtesy of the SCAA, though donations will be much appreciated.

3rd Heritage Lecture

No Stone Unturned: Saltburn through parish eyes, by David Lester

This Tuesday evening, David Lester will continue the story of Saltburn’s development which began in the June lecture; his talk includes fascinating material from early parish magazines and is the story of Saltburn as both town and parish.

Entry is free and doors open at 19:00.

Drama 53 Present the Railway Children

Just in case any of you are looking for something a little special to do this weekend here’s a reminder that Drama 53 are performing the Railway Children especially for Saltburn 150 celebrations in the Community Theatre this week.
Doors open 18:45 for a performance starting at 19:30. Tickets can be bought £6 from the Health Food shop or on the door.
